Accounting for groups and holding companies

If you have several companies, a holding company or subsidiaries, we keep the accounting of all your companies in one place and give you one clear picture of the whole group.

Who it suits

Holding company

Shareholdings in subsidiaries, dividends and intra-group loans recorded correctly.

Group of companies

Several legal entities, shared costs and intra-group transactions that match in every company.

International group

A parent company in Estonia and subsidiaries in other countries, with one financial overview of the whole group.

Owner of several companies

Several private limited companies, one partner and one clear overview of how each company is doing.

What we do

  • Monthly accounting for all group companies in one place
  • Recording and reconciling intra-group transactions, loans and interest
  • Recording dividends and their taxation
  • Allocating shared costs between companies
  • Management reports for the whole group and for each company separately
  • Consolidated financial statements where required
  • Annual reports and cooperation with the auditor

Why keep the group’s accounting in one place

An intra-group transaction has to match in the accounts of both companies: one company shows a receivable, the other a liability for the same amount. When the companies’ accounting is done in different places, differences often go unnoticed until the annual report or the audit.

When one team handles all the companies, we reconcile intra-group balances every month, record transactions the same way on both sides and see the whole group’s cash flow in one picture.

If you need support for group-level decisions on top of accounting, our part-time CFOcan help: budgets, cash flow forecasts and a consolidated management report.

Case study: Reverse Resources

Three countries, three business lines and different accounting systems: a parent company in Estonia and companies in Bangladesh and India. Ann Runnel expected that taking the financial systems to the next level would take at least a year. With KL Raamatupidamine it took three months.

Price

The price depends on the number of companies, the volume of transactions and whether consolidated financial statements are needed. For a group, we prepare a quote after a free introductory call.

For a simpler holding company, the starter investor accounting package is from €345 + VAT per year. Additional work outside the package is 60 €/h + VAT.

Frequently asked questions

Does our group have to prepare consolidated financial statements?

It depends on the size and structure of the group. On the introductory call we check whether the obligation applies to your group and prepare the statements if they are required.

Do all companies have to use the same accounting software?

No. We work with Merit Aktiva, Directo, Erply and Standard Books. If the companies already use different software, we continue in it and bring the data together in the management report.

Can we switch in the middle of the financial year?

Yes. You can switch at any time. We take over the data from your previous accountant and check the intra-group balances right at the start.

Do you also help plan the holding company’s dividends?

Yes. We record dividends and their taxation correctly and help you plan when and from which company to pay dividends.
