Audit preparation: the audit goes faster when your accounting is in order beforehand
Every hour the auditor spends untangling messy documents costs you money. We review everything before the audit and put it in order.
What we do
Before the auditor starts, we go through the accounts together and fix anything that would raise questions.
- We review balance sheet and income statement items and their supporting documents
- We check the accounting for fixed assets, inventories, receivables and liabilities
- We prepare the schedules and explanations the auditor needs
- We highlight risk areas and correct errors before the audit
- If needed, we communicate with the auditor ourselves
Good to know: we don't carry out the audit ourselves – a sworn auditor does. We prepare the accounts and documents so the audit goes smoothly and without surprises.

Audit and review thresholds
Whether your company's annual report has to be audited or reviewed depends on the figures for the financial year. The thresholds apply to financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2024.
If at least two of the three indicators are exceeded
| Indicator | Review | Audit |
|---|---|---|
| Sales revenue or income | over €2,000,000 | over €5,000,000 |
| Total assets | over €1,000,000 | over €2,500,000 |
| Average number of employees | over 24 | over 50 |
If even one indicator is exceeded
| Indicator | Review | Audit |
|---|---|---|
| Sales revenue or income | over €6,000,000 | over €15,000,000 |
| Total assets | over €3,000,000 | over €7,500,000 |
| Average number of employees | over 72 | over 180 |
- The threshold must be exceeded. If an indicator is exactly equal to the threshold, no obligation arises from that indicator.
- If the conditions for an audit are met, no separate review is carried out. You can always choose an audit instead of a review.
- An audit may also be required by the articles of association, a shareholders' resolution, a bank or an investor.
