Here is the survey summary, a 13-question self-test and a real story about what good financial management changes in a company.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This summary is based on the webinar held on <strong>7 October 2026<\/strong>. They keep asking: where exactly, with which product, client or price?<\/p><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull kl-section has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"enesetest\">Self-test: 13 questions<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answer each question honestly: <strong>yes, definitely<\/strong>, <strong>partly<\/strong> or <strong>no<\/strong>. At the end, count how many times you answered \u201cyes, definitely\u201d. In brackets you can see how the entrepreneurs in the survey answered.<\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Do you know the cost price and real profit margin of each of your products or services? <em>(24% know for sure)<\/em><\/li><li>Can you say how many months the company could keep operating without any new sales? <em>(28% know for sure)<\/em><\/li><li>If an unexpected cost or drop in sales happened, would you know straight away where to get the money? <em>(30% wouldn't know)<\/em><\/li><li>In the past year, have you made an important decision mostly on gut feeling? <em>(75% have, at least partly)<\/em><\/li><li>Do you hold regular financial review meetings? <em>(57% say they don't)<\/em><\/li><li>Can you read and interpret your balance sheet and income statement on your own? <em>(24% can fully)<\/em><\/li><li>Do you have a clear strategy for how and when to pay profit out of the company to yourself? <em>(10% have a clear strategy)<\/em><\/li><li>Do you use all the tax-free expenses and reimbursements the law allows?<\/li><li>In the past year, have you reviewed all your costs line by line?<\/li><li>Do you know in advance when and how much tax you'll have to pay?<\/li><li>Do you know how much money your clients owe you today, and whether invoices are paid on time?<\/li><li>Do you have a budget, and do you compare actual results with it every month?<\/li><li>Do you have last month's numbers within 10 days?<\/li><\/ol><p class=\"kl-note wp-block-paragraph\">For question 4, count the answer \u201cno\u201d as a point.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your result<\/h3><figure class=\"wp-block-table kl-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>\u201cYes, definitely\u201d answers<\/th><th>What it means<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>11\u201313<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Strong foundations.<\/strong> The numbers are a management tool. The next step is planning growth and investments.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>6\u201310<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Half the picture is missing.<\/strong> Your accounting works, but some decisions are made blind. What matters is that both roles are covered.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What a good CFO actually does in your company<\/h3><ul class=\"wp-block-list kl-checks\"><li>Knows the cost price and margin of every product, service and client<\/li><li>Forecasts cash flow so that cash reserves are known in months<\/li><li>Keeps a plan B ready and knows before a crisis where the money will come from<\/li><li>Supports hiring, price increase and investment decisions with analysis<\/li><li>Brings the numbers to the management table every month: budget versus actual<\/li><li>Plans salary, dividends and the tax impact together<\/li><li>Reviews contracts and services at least once a year<\/li><li>Uses the tax-free options allowed by law and keeps a tax calendar<\/li><li>Automates reporting so the month's numbers are ready within 10 days<\/li><\/ul><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull kl-section has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Time, AI and growth<\/h2><ul class=\"wp-block-list kl-checks\"><li><strong>43%<\/strong> say handling invoices and payments takes the most time and energy<\/li><li><strong>95%<\/strong> are interested in how AI and automation could reduce routine work<\/li><li><strong>90%<\/strong> are interested in how to structure their finances to support growth and investment<\/li><li><strong>37%<\/strong> haven't yet decided how to finance growth<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most common answer about automation was \u201cWe don't use it yet, but we'd like to\u201d. The company also has three business lines and many stakeholders.
